Now that homes are sitting on the market for a wee bit longer than in recent years past, it is proving beneficial for creative realtors to come up with classy methods of marketing their premium listings.
Not for the luxury market is the gimmicky approach to throwing in all additional bells and whistles. And a BMW or Mercedes in the garage is just a little over the top.
So attracting high-end buyers has to be a subtle affair - and how better to seduce a prospective Petaluma country estate owner than by laying on an exclusive wine and cheese pairing tour of the neighborhood's top homes for sale?
Resident Realtor, Timo and two other leading Petaluma real estate pros put on the wine-country speciality last night, as local agents and their luxury home hunters toured three exceptional properties in the Liberty Road region of rural West Petaluma.
Timo's four-time award winning (double gold at this year's Marin County Fair) private label, 2005 Que Syra Syrah was served alongside a selection of sharply paired traditional English Cheddar cheeses, a Huntsman with Stilton and white Cheddars with apricots and cranberries.
Ruby red and golden grapevines from the vineyard adorned this perfect little wine and cheese pairing at 777 Liberty Road, a brand-new, custom built four bedroom Craftsman on two and a half country acres. The last of the season's fresh figs were resplendent atop leaves from the same tree. An olive branch laden with beautiful black fruit completed the scene in the state of the art, country gourmet kitchen.
Agents and clients were delighted to participate in the first evening tour of its kind within the Petaluma inter-office real estate community.
"This type of first-class co-ordinated property tour with wine and cheese pairings will set a standard for high-end home sales," says Timo. "
It was an enjoyable event and hopefully will result in a swift and highly satisfactory sale for each of the individual property owners."
